The Valdry Center for Philanthropy at Southern University seeks to educate the socially conscious student, volunteer, and practitioner in the emerging field of philanthropic studies in the local, national, and international arenas.


For decades, most nonprofit leaders considering a capital campaign would hire consultants to interview key supporters as a basis for deciding whether to mount what in many cases would be an organization’s most ambitious fundraising drive ever.

In partnership with university researchers, three foundations have made seed donations to help establish the Center for Social Innovation at the University of California, Riverside to share a common mission: finding ways to serve the underserved.
